Spring 2005 Newsletter

Club League:
The Club League commences on the 6th of April and enclosed please find the fixture list. A fee of 3€ for club members and 5€ for non-members will apply. It is important that marshals/stewards attend their designated race or make alternative arrangements so as to ensure that the events take place in a safe manner. The committee also requests that the Chief Marshall conduct a final sweep of the course at the end of a race to ensure nobody gets lost!

2005 Club League starts on Wed 6th of April with a 5 Mile TT from Balrothery.

Membership Affiliation for Club League:
The committee would like to remind all riders who are competing in the club league to ensure they are both a member of McNally Swords CC as well as Cycling Ireland and that evidence of Membership of Cycling Ireland is required to be produced when registering for your first league event.

Launch of 2005 Club Season:
The annual launch of the club’s 2005 cycling season will take place in the Carnegie Court Hotel on Monday 4th April at 8.30 p.m on the first floor. Sandwiches and some refreshments will be provided. This is an opportunity to meet other members. Feel free to bring along family members and friends.

July 17th Meath again Tour 90Kms Popes X : 10.00am (2 Points)

Club Spins:
The weekly club spins continue to be the following times:
Thursday (tea stop) – 9.15am (Lord Mayors) – Distance 60miles approx
Saturday – 8.30am (Blakes Cross)- Distance 50miles approx
Saturday (tea stop) – 9.00am (Lord Mayors) – Distance 50/60 miles approx
Sunday – 9.15am (Lord Mayors) – Distance 60 miles approx

Club Tour on May 29th:
The annual club tour will take place on Sunday 29th of May from Fingallians GAA Club. Registration is at 8.30am, departing at 9.00 a.m. There will be an 80 and 50 mile route. This event was very successful last year and we would appreciate if members could make themselves available and support the event again. Showers and refreshments will be provided

Membership for 2005 Season

The good news is that there is no increase in the annual membership fee which is required to be paid before January 31st 2005. The membership meeting will take place on Monday 31st at 8.00 pm in Fingallians and enclosed please find application form. Note that all members of McNally Swords Cycling Club must register with either Cycling Ireland or the Irish Veteran Cycling Association.

In addition, in order to enable our treasurer to manage the membership fee more effectively, those who use cheques must write two separate cheques (McNally Swords CC and Cycling Ireland or IVCA). Membership forms should be sent to Breda McNally, Walshestown, Lusk, Co. Dublin
