Joe McNally League 2017 – Latest News

The Joe McNally Club League 2017 is almost here!

Register here now.

The purpose of this news post is to keep you updated on what’s been going on behind the scenes to make this happen.

So what’s happened so far?

Well, the racing committee met last week and the format for this year’s league was agreed. It will be very similar to 2016, but there will be changes made to the start/finish areas on certain circuits.

Once again, the first event will be on April 12th and it will be a TT from the Rathbeale Road up to Garristown.  In all, there are:

  • 5 TTs
  • 4 Corkagh Park
  • 11 Road Races

Full details here.

Club Championships

One change that all members should take note of is the date of the Club Championship race: July 12th. The full details will be put up on the website over the next few weeks.

Registration

The Joe McNally League is open to Swords Cycling Club members and invited guests only. The fee this year remains the same as last year at €50 for the full league. That’s less than €3 per race! Whilst there are 20 races, the maximum any one person can race is 18 as all participants must marshal at least 2 races. Payment will be via the club website and I would encourage everyone to register and pay for the club league using that facility. We would much prefer not to have to take payment on the night for each race.

Marshal Briefing

Once again, we will also be holding a marshals briefing night on April 5th in Applewood Community Centre, Swords. Attendance will be compulsory. Anyone who can’t make it to the briefing must send an email to mnsccchairman@gmail.com and I will try to make alternative arrangements for those individuals.

So thats it so far! Thanks for reading and I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the other members of the committee for their assistance with the league.
