Our annual club tour The McNally Swords Two County Challenge took place this year on Sunday, June 25th, 2023. Thank you to everybody that participated and contributed to the Two County Challenge Cycle. It raised €4,416.74 for Pieta House.
A huge thank you to Mags and John Ward for a great day today. They are the driving force behind the Swords Two County challenge and it just wouldn’t happen without them.
Thank you to everybody who turned out despite the bucketing rain in the early part of the day. It did clear up a bit, but sure by that time everybody was soaked to the skin. Some hot tea and coffee and a pile of sambos at Emerald Park (Tayto to the rest of us) cheered everybody up and got them on the road again.
Back at Fingallians everybody was welcomed by more hot drinks and even better, a big, hot cheeseburger. A big thank you to Keith Lawlor and his team for the burgers. They just kept them coming and were so welcome by everybody, especially the two lads who couldn’t understand why the 98kms route was listed as 70kms. The poor guys took a wrong turn and somehow managed to do a combination of the 70 and the 120. They got two burgers!
So many people to thank: the marshals, the motorbike marshals, the morning registration team, the Emerald park team, the support cars and most of all the people who went out in the lashing rain and got absolutely drowned to raise money for Pieta House.
Thank you to everybody. Hope you are warm, dry and have your feet up.
